 Barb and Jennifer are both native Calgarians and have been friends since grade school. Barb became interested in the natural health industry in 1995 when she started working at Vitamins First in Calgary. Since then she completed her degree in Biological Sciences (BSc) and her Bachelor of Applied Science in Nutrition. In 2001, Barb developed a series of whole food cooking classes and seminars for individuals looking to change their lifestyle and eating patterns. After almost a decade of working at Vitamins First, Barb purchased the store in 2002.
Jenn’s background is in corporate communications and she has been responsible for the development and implementation of strategic public relations programs, media relations, event management and communication planning for clients such as Imperial Oil Ltd., Enbridge, The Calgary Health Region and Nova Scotia Office of Health Promotion. Before starting maternity leave with her first son, Jenn worked as a consultant with NATIONAL Public Relations and prior to that she worked with Extreme Public Relations in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and United Way of Calgary and Area. Jenn holds a Bachelor of Applied Communications with a major in Journalism.
